With Langhe Rosso DOC producers have (almost) a free pass to use any type of red grapes. Primarily, however, there are used the Nebbiolo, Barbera and Freisa and quite local varieties.
Generally, this is a ruby red wine with a tendency to turn garnet with age. Typically, this is an intensely scented red wine. The taste is dry with a robust body.
