A fungus which can lead to both sadness and joy. Under humid climatic conditions, it can be a very serious illness of the vine, which causes gray mold (muffa grigia). In exceptional circumstances and under certain climatic conditions, it provides certain grapes with the so-called "precious mold" (muffa nobile), which is a friendly and desirable mold for the production of sweet, so-called "botrytiserede" white wines.
