In the Alessandria province, just northeast of Acqui Terme, we find the zone Strevi, which forms a kind of border to the east of Moscato wines. The grapes are grown here on the hills of 150 to 200 meter altitude and the zone is located in an area where the landscape flattens out towards the Po plain.

According to historians, the first settlements date back to ancient Rome. Here, there was an important, sacred school called 'Septemviri', which eventually became the city of Strevi.

in the curious are told a legend that Strevi was founded by seven brothers who loved a good wine called "Septem Ebrii". In Latin, that name can be interpreted as "seven drunk men."

Local legends are never missing in Italy.

Written evidence of wine can be found in historical records dating back to 1257. This confirms Strevi as a wine that is preferred by the higher clergy class, which has always had a good eye for the precious drops.

Strevi is made from Moscato Bianco grapes (100%), which are allowed to slightly dry before pressing, either on the vine or on shelves, straw mats, in enclosed, ventilated and temperature controlled or specially equipped rooms.

Moscato wines tend to be fuller and downright heavy compared to the other Moscato wines in Piedmont, and perhaps that is the reason that this is Passito.

The color of this sweet, golden white wine is more or less intense golden-yellow, often with amber reflections. The aroma is intense, aromatic, honey-like and distinctive while the flavor is sweet, balanced, distinctive and dominated by the harvested fruit.

The minimum alcohol content is 20%, of which 12.5% effective and the wine has a mandatory aging period of at least 24 months starting with October 1st of the harvesting year.

There is also a single field Strevi 'Vigna', with 20% alcohol content, of which 13% effective.

Strevi Passito is an extraordinarily interesting wine to enjoy after the meal, or just for reflection and quiet moments.
