In the early 1800s, the Grignolino grape was one of the most widespread in the Alessandria province, actually the second most used in Piedmont. Today, it produces its bright, delicate wines which are somehow not in accordance with the times and not least with what the other red wines of the region are known for, namely robustness and durability.

Grignolino del Monferrato Casalese is produced around the town of Casale Monferrrato and can contain up to 10% Freisa grapes.

This somewhat unusual red wine has many followers who appreciate its light and bright character.

Grignolino del Monferrato Casalese is a bright and light ruby red wine that acquires orange touches after a few years. The wine has a delicate characteristic fruity aroma and a characteristic, slightly tannic aftertaste. From some producers, it may be quite elegant.

The above description suits its cousin from Asti province, Grignolino d'Asti . P >
