Read moreCoste della Sesia (coast of Sesia) is one of the newer DOC's (1996) and the zone’s vines grow in the northern part of Piemonte, at Vercelli, on the hills west of the Sesia river, east of Biella. The zone includes 18 municipalities.
Mostly red wines are produced here from the grape varieties of Nebbiolo (local Spanna), Bonarda (local Uva Rara), Croatina and Vespolina. However, a white wine based on the Erbaluce grape variety is also produced.
