As the name suggests, Dolcetto di Dogliani is grown around town Dogliani, and proof that Dolcetto-wine originates from here. Old documents also show that the first vines were planted in the 16th century.
An old legend from the 13th century tells us that a prince of the area threatened residents with beheading if they planted other grapes than Dolcetto on his lands.
This wine has a balanced fullness and depth, and, from some producers, a long pleasant aftertaste. The color is ruby red, the scent is fruity and characteristic. The taste is dry and harmonious, with a typical almond aftertaste.
This red wine is grown in the same area as Dolcetto di Dogliani Superiore.
