It is mostly monks you see pictured with a bottle of wine and a contented smile on their faces, but royals also have a sense of the red drops. Therefore, it is said that the King of Piedmont, Vittorio Emanuele II (1820-1878) did not sit down without a bottle of Freisa.
Even then existed Freisa in both quiet, bubbly and sparkling versions and its taste could also span from dry to sweet. The sweet type is available only to a limited extent today.
The red wine Langhe Freisa is produced from the grape Freisa (100%), which provides either a ruby or a cherry red wine. The scent is distinctive and with a delicate flavor, ranging from dry to sweet, these wines being very fresh and vivacious (Vivace).
Also available as a single-mark wine.
