The rosé wine Alto Adige Merlot Rosato DOC, also known as Alto Adige Merlot Rosé DOC or South Tyrol/Sydtiroler Merlot Kretzer DOC, is made from the red Merlot grape (85-100%), with the permitted addition of local red grapes (0-15%).
The wine has quite an attractive pink color with orange reflections. The scent is slightly herbal, distinctive and inviting. The taste is dry, fresh and slightly grassy.
If the label mentions “Vigna” (Gewächs or Wachstum), followed by the name of a place, it refers to a specific vineyard area or a “micro zone”.
The wine pairs well with sausages, bolliti (a local dish with boiled meat) or semi-hard cheeses.
