The white wine Alto Adige Bianco DOC is made from an impressive combination of grapes. The varieties used for this wine are Chardonnay and/or Pinot Bianco and/or Pinot Grigio (75-100% minimum of two of these, but neither exceeding 70%), Müller Thurgau and/or Sauvignon and/or Riesling and/or Sylvaner and/or Traminer Aromatico and/or Kerner (0-25%) with the permitted addition of local white grapes (0-5%).
The wine is also known as Alto Adige Weiss Riserva DOC.
It has a straw-yellow color and a pleasant, fruity, sometimes aromatic scent. The taste is dry, full-bodied and aromatic.
The minimum aging period is 2 years, starting on October 1st of the harvesting year.
Combines perfectly with fish antipasti or grilled fish.
A dessert wine, Alto Adige Bianco Passito DOC, is made from the same grape composition. This type is also known as Alto Adige Weiss Riserva DOC or Südtirol/Südtiroler Riserva DOC.
