Alto Adige Lagrein Rosato DOC (or Alto Adige Lagrein Rosé DOC or Südtirol/Südtiroler Lagrein Kretzer DOC) is a fairly light ruby red wine with pink or salmon-colored reflections. The scent is delicate and pleasant while the taste is harmonious, without too much body. A dry, elegant and fresh wine.
The basic grape is Lagrein (85-100%) with the permitted addition of local white grapes (0-15%).
Alto Adige Lagrein Rosato DOC is also known as Alto Adige Lagrein di Gries DOC Alto Adige Lagrein Grieser DOC or Alto Adige Lagrein Gries aus DOC. In these cases, the wine comes from the Bolzano municipality.
If the label mentions “Vigna” (Gewächs or Wachstum), followed by the name of a place, it refers to a specific vineyard area or a “micro zone”.
The wine pairs well with sausages and sauerkraut (krauti) and knödel (canederli).
