Alto Adige/Südtiroler Cabernet DOC is a red wine, made from either Cabernet Sauvignon and/or Cabernet Franc (95-100%). The name of the grapes used in the composition are listed on the label.
This is an interesting ruby red wine with a fairly light structure and very fruity. Sometimes, Alto Adige/Südtiroler Cabernet DOC has a maturation period of 4 to 10 years, after which the herbaceous notes are replaced by an inviting softness. The color becomes garnet red with age.
Especially, the Alto Adige/Südtiroler Cabernet Sauvingnon DOC develops great and can easily be compared to Italy’s best wines.
An Alto Adige/Südtiroler Cabernet Riserva DOC is also available, with a mandatory aging period of 2 years, starting on October 1st of the harvesting year.
Depending on the vintage, the aging potential is 3 to 4 years for the non barrel-aged type and typically 7 years for the Riserva type. The wine is a great accompaniment for steak.
