Alto Adige Schiava DOC is a red wine made from the variety bearing the same name, Schiava Grigio (85-100%), with the permitted addition of local red grapes.
The wine is also known as Südtiroler / Südtirol Grauvernatsch DOC. P>
Alto Adige Schiava DOC is a light to medium ruby red wine with a delicate, inviting, characteristic and fruity nose. The taste is soft, dry and pleasant with a light touch of almond. P>
If the label mentions “Vigna” (Gewächs or Wachstum), followed by the name of a place, it refers to a specific vineyard area or a “micro zone”.
The wine is a wonderful accompaniment of antipasti, vegetable risotto, clear soups and semi-hard cheeses.
