This white or golden dessert wine is produced from the local grape Pignoletto (85-100%), with the permitted addition of other non-aromatic white grapes (0-15%), thus it has the same grape composition as the dry Colline Marconiane Pignoletto DOC.
The grapes are either allowed to partially or completely dry while on the vine, or they are dried after the harvest. The result is a golden yellow to amber colored wine, with a delicate and sweet scent, and a warm, full-bodied taste.
Colline Marconiane Pignoletto Passito DOC must have an alcohol content of minimum 15%.
That Italy in 2011 was the worlds largest wine producer?
