Alto Adige Valle Venosta Schiava DOC is a red wine made from the local Schiava (Vernatsch) grape (85-100%), with the permitted addition of local red grapes (0-15%).
The result is a light to medium ruby red wine, with an inviting, fruity and characteristic scent. The taste is dry, soft, inviting, with a light almond aftertaste.
The wine is also known as Südtiroler/Südtirol Vinschgau Vernatsch DOC.
If the label mentions “Vigna” (Gewächs or Wachstum), followed by the name of a place, it refers to a specific vineyard area or a “micro zone”.
