Alto Adige Riesling Italico or Alto Adige Südtirol/ Südtiroler Welschriesling DOC is a white wine based on the grape Riesling Italico, locally called Welschriesling (85-100%), with the permitted addition of local white grapes (0-15%).
This is a bright green-yellow white wine, with a delicate and inviting scent, characteristic of the grape. The taste is dry, ample, with a light body.
If the label mentions Classico, Klassisch or Klassisches Ursprungsgebiet, it means that the wine originated in the so-called classical part of the zone surrounding the cities of Terlano, Adriano and Nalles. If the label mentions “Vigna” (Gewächs oe Wachstum), followed by the name of a place, it refers to a specific vineyard area or a “micro zone”.
The wine is a good accompaniment of seafood, fish and clear soups.
