Colli di Bolzano DOC or Südtirol/Südtiroler Bozner Leiten DOC is a red wine made from the Schiava Grossa/Gentile grape variety (85-100%), with permission to further add local red grapes (0-15%).
The color of the wine ranges from light to medium ruby. The scent is distinctive and quite pronounced, while the taste is pleasant, full-bodied, soft and balanced.
If the label mentions “Vigna” (Gewächs or Wachstum), followed by the name of a place, it refers to a specific vineyard area or a “micro zone”.
Pairs well with local sausages, ham (speck), sauerkraut and fresh cheeses.
