As is the case with its cousins, Sovana Rosso and Rosso Superiore, this red wine is produced from the Sangiovese (50-100%) grape, along with other, local, non-aromatic red grapes (0-50%).
This produces an intense ruby red wine with a tendency towards garnet after aging. The aroma is vinous, intense and characteristic. The bouquet is further refined with its barrel aging. The taste is dry, ample and harmonious.
Mandatory aging is2 years in oak barrels, plus 6 months in the bottle.
