As the wine producers in Tuscany are well aware of that fact that the name Chianti Colli Aretini DOCG doesn't really ring in the ears of outsiders, many producers leave it off the label. With good reason one might assume that this isn't an especially prestigious wine, nonetheless Chiantis from this region are actually quite smooth, fragrant and, at times, youthfully fresh.

The grapes come from the hills surrounding the Arno valley in the Arezzo province, and the majority of the wine is medium bodied and sold primarily to the local palates.

Mandatory aging: Until March 1 after the harvest year; Chianti Colli Aretini Riserva 12.5% alcohol concentration and min. 2 years aging, of which 3 months in the bottle.

Shelf life: Up to 5 years. Riserva up to 10 years or more.
