Bianco dell’Empolese DOC

The white wine Bianco dell’Empolese received its DOC in 1989, and is thus one of the newer appellations in Tuscany, even though there has always been a tradition for growing wine in the area.

The vineyards are located in the Empoli, Cerreto Guidi, Fucecchio, Vinci, Montelupo Fiorentino, Capraia and Limite comuni, all located along the Arno River in the Florence province.

Since the DOC classification, the zone's producers, together with an increasing number of newcomers, have worked hard to live up to the strict law requirements and to further improve the quality of the region's white wine.

The primary grape is the local Trebbiano Toscano, and it's used for a dry white wine, and a dry and sweet Vin Santo.
