This red wine is made from the same grapes as the regular San Gimignano Rosso, which is synonymous with at least 70% Sangiovese, together with Cabernet Sauvignon and/or Merlot and/or Syrah and/or Pinot Nero (0-20%). Other local, non-aromatic red grapes may also be added (0-15%).
This is an intense, ruby red wine that is more or less garnet after aging. The aroma is vinous and delicate, and the taste is dry, harmonious, very ample and sufficiently tannic.
Minimum aging is 2 years.
Goes well with slightly stronger dishes.
