As the name implies, the main grape in this wine is Merlot (85-100%), and additional local red grapes may also be added (0-15%).
The result is a ruby red wine with flecks of violet, that with aging becomes more garnet. The bouquet is vinous and appealing, while the taste is ample, smooth and balanced.
There is also a Montescudaio Merlot Reserve.
