This red wine is made from the same grapes as the regular Pomino Rosso, namely Sangiovese (50-100%) together with Pinot Nero and/or Merlot (max. 50%). In addition, up to 25% local red grapes may also be added.
The Reserve is ruby red with more or less garnet reflections. The aroma is intense, harmonious and characteristic, and now and then with hints of harvested fruit. The taste is robust and smooth, often with hints of marmalade.
The mandatory aging period is 2 years, of which at least 12 months must be in large or small oak barrels (carati). Aging must begin after November 1 of the harvest year. The fining process takes place with 3 months' aging in the bottle. The wine may first be released for sale after November 1 of the second year after the harvest.
An exciting wine with roast.
