This red wine contains the same grapes as the regular Montecarlo Rosso, which is synonymous with Sangiovese (50-75%), Canaiolo Nero (5-15%), Ciliegiolo, Colorino, Malvasia Nera, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot (10-15%), along with local red and green grapes (0-20%).
As is the case with its cousin, this is a clear, ruby-colored red wine with a tendency towards garnet. The aroma is vinous, intense and characteristic, while the taste is dry and delightfully smooth.
The mandatory aging period is 2 years, followed by 6 months in the bottle.
