The grape composition for this red wine is the same as for the unaged Montecucco Rosso, namely Sangiovese (60-100%), to which other, local, non-aromatic red grapes can also be added (0-40%).
The color is intense, ruby red with a tendency towards garnet. The aroma is ample, vinous, elegant and characteristic. The taste is dry, warm, elegant and with hints of oak.
The mandatory aging period is 2 years, of which 18 months must be in oak barrels. Aging must begin by November 1 of the harvest year.
Enjoyed immensely with roast.
