Colli di Scandiano e di Canossa Malvasia DOC is made from Malvasia di Candia Aromatica grapes (85-100%), Malvasia di Candia Bianca and/or Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio, Trebbiano Romagnolo, Chardonnay grapes (0-15%).
The result is a more or less intense straw colored wine. The scent is varied, often very intense, and the taste is either dry, sweet or sweetish, but regardless of the type, it is a balanced, aromatic, fresh and, most likely, a vivacious wine.
Best enjoyed with cakes and desserts. The dry goes well with fish dishes.
The same grape composition is used to produce the sparkling Colli di Scandiano e di Canossa Malvasia Spumante DOC and Colli di Scandiano e di Canossa Malvasia Frizzante DOC types.
That Italy in 2011 was the worlds largest wine producer?
