This wine has the same grape composition as the non-barrel aged Colli d’Imola Sangiovese DOC, namely Sangiovese grapes (85-100%), with the permitted addition of up to 15% other grapes from the zone.
In theory, this Sangiovese red wine is similar to the Sangiovese di Romagna Riserva DOC from the same region, but the difference lies in each producer’s interpretation of the wine.
The scent of Colli d’Imola Rosso Riserva DOC is ruby with violet edges at times. The aroma is vinous and delicate, while the taste is full-bodied, dry and balanced.
The minimum aging period is 18 months, starting with November 1st of the harvesting year.
Best enjoyed with heavy foods and maturated cheese.
