Somewhat unusually for Calabria, Scavigna is recognized for its white wines, and Scavigna Bianca is, in fact, something special.
The grape blend is Trebbiano Toscano (0-50%), Chardonnay (0-30%), Greco Bianco (0-20%), Malvasia Bianca (0-10%) as well as other permitted varieties (0-35%).
This grape combination gives a very light [-shaded?AC] white wine with yellow flecks tending to green. The fragrance is fresh, vinous, inviting and characteristic for the type. The taste is dry, ample, balanced and with a dominant fruitiness.
Locally, this white is drunk with all dishes.
