This red wine has the same grape composition as the non-barrel aged Colli di Faenza Sangiovese DOC, namely Sangiovese grapes (100%), and it is more or less identical to the red wine Sangiovese di Romagna DOC. The differences mostly come from the producers.
Colli di Faenza Sangiovese Riserva DOC has a dark ruby red color and a very distinctive and delicate scent, with notes of violets. The taste is dry and harmonious, with an equally distinctive aftertaste.
The wine is an ideal accompaniment of roasted lamb.
The minimum mandatory aging period is 2 years, starting on November 1st of the harvesting year, and the aging potential is 8-9 years.
