This barrel-aged red wine is made from the same grapes as the less aged Matera Moro DOC, meaning Cabernet Sauvignon grapes (minimum 60%), Primitivo (minimum 20%) and Merlot (10%), with the permitted addition of other local, non-aromatic red grape varieties.
Matera Moro Riserva DOC has an intense and persistent dark, ruby red color and a dry, full-bodied and harmonious taste, with a velvety texture. The minimum alcohol content is 13%.
The mandatory aging period is 3 years beginning on November 1st of the harvesting year before Matera Moro DOC is released on the market.
