Matera Bianco Spumante DOC is a sparkling wine produced on the same grapes as the still Matera Bianco DOC which means at least 85% Malvasia Bianca di Basilicata grapes with the permitted addition of other non-aromatic grape varieties, often the Greco variety (0-15%).

The wine is produced by the classic, Metodo Classico, method with a second fermentation in the bottle, and the result is a sparkling white wine, with fine, persistent foam. The color is straw yellow, the scent is pleasantly fruity and the taste is distinctive, dry and spicy.
