With its more or less intense, straw yellow color, the Contea di Sclafani Ansonica is an inviting white wine. The aroma is delicate, and the taste dry and pleasant.
The grapes are Ansoni (Insolia) (85-100%) with permission to use local green grapes (0-15%).
Goes with fish dishes.
Note:
All the white wines in Contea di Sclafani are also produced as Dolce, where the minimum alcohol content must be 11%. The color is an intense straw yellow, the aroma characteristic and intense, the taste velvety and balanced.
If the grapes are harvested after October 1 of the harvest year, they are dried on the vine. The must is afterwards vinified in an oak barrel (mandatory for 6 months), and the finished result is identified on the label by the designation "Vendemmia Tardiva” (late harvest).
Vendemmia Tardiva is a dessert wine that color wise spans from straw yellow to amber colored. The aroma is characteristic, intense and persistent, and the taste is soft, harmonious and mellow. The minimum alcohol concentration is 18%.
All white and rosé wines are also available as Spumante, where the second fermentation has either been done according to Metodo Classico or Metodo Martinotti (Charmat). The minimum alcohol concentration is 11.5%. The wine is enjoyed as an aperitif.
