Friuli Colli Orientali Pinot Nero DOC is a light, not very intense ruby red wine, which turns to garnet with age. As the name suggests, it is made from Pinot Nero/Noir grapes (85-100%), with the permitted addition of local red grapes (0-15%).
The scent is intense, delicate and varied, while the taste is dry and inviting with a slightly bitter aftertaste.
A barrel-aged Friuli Colli Orientali Pinot Nero Riserva DOC is also available, with 11% minimum alcohol content and a period of aging of no less than 2 years, beginning on November 1st of the harvesting year.
The aging potential for the barrel-aged type is 3-4 years.
