The red wine Friuli Colli Orientali Cabernet Franc DOC is made from the grape bearing the same name, namely Cabernet Franc (85-100%), with the permitted addition of other local red grapes (0-15%).
This is an intense ruby red wine, which turns to garnet red with age. The scent is herbaceous and intense, and the taste, also slightly herbaceous, is spicy, dry and distinctive.
The aging potential is up to 3 years.
A barrel-aged Friuli Colli Orientali Cabernet Franc Riserva DOC is also available, with 11% minimum alcohol content and a mandatory period of aging of no less than 2 years before released on the market.
