Leverano Rosso Riserva DOC is made from the same grape as Leverano Rosso DOC and Leverano Rosato DOC, namely Negroamaro (50-100%), Malvasia Nera di Lecce and/or Montepulciano, Sangiovese (0-40%), as well as up to 30% other local, red grapes.
Leverano Rosso Riserva DOC is ruby to garnet red, with tends to orange shadings as the wine ages. The scent is vinous and the bouquet is inviting and characteristic. The taste is dry and smooth, with a slightly bitter aftertaste.
The required aging is 2 years, beginning on November 1st of the harvesting year and a minimum of 6 months of fining in the bottle.
Best served with lamb.
