Brindisi DOC

Brindisi is located in the center of Apulia, thus in Italy’s heel. Despite during ancient times it was an important naval and commercial port, today Brindisi is a modern city.

Located over two islets and between two bays, which form the inner harbor area of the city, Brindisi is described as one of the safest ports, in the context of dangerous weather conditions and often unstable sea.

Brindisi DOC’s two dominant wines take its name from the city. The production area covers the city Mesagne, also located in Brindisi province.

The main grapes are Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera di Brindisi and Sangiovese. You can also stumble over the rarely seen Sussumaniello grape.
