Leverano DOC is a small area located in the Lecce province, bordering Copertino DOC and Salice Salentino DOC. The wines in this area are ample and they have character, which makes their encounter quite a pleasant experience.
The area traces its winemaking tradition far back in antiquity, and producers offer a whole range of wines. The red wine is dominated by the Negroamaro grape, which is used for the production of half of the red wines in this area, thus they are very interesting to explore.
The white wines, produced from the Malvasia grapes, are of astonishingly high quality, and so are the rosé wines (Rosato), with their raspberry-like flavor, which are worth exploring.
Besides the traditional wine production, the area offers its guests stunning panoramas of lush, endless vineyards.
