This sparkling white wine is made from the same grapes as the (almost) still Gravina Bianco DOC, a rare but pleasant white wine, grown around the cities of Gravina and Poggiorsini, near the border with the Basilicata region, as well as in parts of the communal territories of Altamura and Spinazzola in the province of Bari.
The wine is made from Greco di Tufo grapes (50-100%), Malvasia Bianca and/or Malvasia Bianca Lunga (50-100%) with the permission to add local white varieties or Fiano, Verdeca, Bianco di Alessano and Chardonnay (0-30%).
Gravina Bianco Spumante DOC is slightly sweet (Amabile) or dry wine with persistent foam. It’s has a distinctive, pleasant scent, and a dry (or sweetish), fresh, balanced and pleasant taste. The color is straw yellow, with green hints.
From certain producers, Gravina Bianco Spumante DOC can reach a very high level of quality.
To be drunk young.
