Gravina Bianco DOC is a rare but pleasant white wine, grown around the cities of Gravina and Poggiorsini, near the border with the Basilicata region, as well as in parts of the communal territories of Altamura and Spinazzola in the province of Bari.
The wine is made from Greco di Tufo grapes (50-100%), Malvasia Bianca and/or Malvasia Bianca Lunga (20-100%) with the permission to add local white varieties or Fiano, Verdeca, Bianco di Alessano and Chardonnay (0-30%).
Gravina Bianco DOC is slightly sweet (Amabile) or dry, often bubbly with a distinctive, pleasant scent, and a dry (or sweetish), fresh, balanced and pleasant taste. The color is straw yellow, with green hints.
From certain producers, Gravina Bianco DOC can reach a very high level of quality.
Available also on the same grapes is the sparkling Gravina Bianco Spumante DOC.
To be drunk young.
