It is the tannin-rich Pignatello (el. Perricone) that forms the basis for this red wine. Pignatello must constitute a minimum 85%, with permission to add local red grapes (0-15%).
The color is intense, ruby red, with a tendency towards orange red after aging. The aroma is vinous and characteristic. This is a dry, well-tasting red wine with a slightly tannic aftertaste.
There is also a Delia Nivolelli Pignatello Riserva.
