The white wine Friuli Colli Orientali Cialla Ribolla Gialla DOC is made, as the name suggests, from the Ribolla Gialla grape (100%).
The result is a dry, straw-colored white wine, with green hints. Friuli Colli Orientali Cialla Ribolla Gialla DOC has a varied and perfumed scent, as well as a dry, vinous, fresh and balanced taste.
The wine is released on the market after April 1st of the year following the harvest.
Enjoyed with antipasti or fish.
A barrel-aged Friuli Colli Orientali Cialla Ribolla Gialla Riserva DOC is also available, with a period of aging of no less than 4 years, beginning on January 1st of the year of the harvest. The minimum alcohol content is 12% for both the barrel-aged and the non barrel-aged type.
Since 2011, this wine has got its own subzone, called Friuli Colli Orientali Ribolla Gialla di Rosazzo DOC (see that).
That Italy in 2011 was the worlds largest wine producer?
