This is the southernmost DOC wine of Salento. Both the red wine Martino Rosso DOC and the rosé, Martino Rosato DOC, are made from the grapes Negroamaro (70-100%) and Malvasia Nera and/or Sangiovese (0-30%).
Martino Rosso DOC is rarely seen outside the Martino DOC zone, however it is comparable to other Salento wines. The color of the wine is ruby red, which turns brick red with age, and the taste is dry and strong.
The same applies to the Rosato, but this is a light, golden and intense rosé that darkens with age and that has a dry, distinctive taste.
