This red wine is made from Negroamaro grapes (60-80%) with the permitted addition of Montepulciano and/or Sangiovese, Bombino Nero, Pinot Nero (0-40%) and Malvasia Nera di Brindisi and/or Malvasia Nera di Lecce (0-10%).
Lizzano Rosso DOC is a dry, comfortable and well balanced ruby red wine, which changes its color to garnet red after a few years. The aroma is vinous, inviting and characteristic of its type.
A Lizzano Rosso Frizzante DOC type is also available, called Giovane (young), which is bottled young, having a low alcohol content. It can be enjoyed with most meals.
The aging potential is up to 3 years.
