The red wine Lizzano Malvasia Nera DOC is very rare on the market. It is produced from the grapes Malvasia Nera di Lecce and/or Malvasia di Brindisi (85-100%), Negroamaro and/or Montepulciano and/or Sangiovese and/or Pinot Nero (0-15%).
It is a dark red velvety wine with light tannins and soft, distinctive scent, with a light, aromatic hint.
Lizzano Malvasia Nera Superiore DOC is also available, with minimum aging requirements.
The wine is mostly enjoyed at the local level and the aging potential is about 5-6 years.
