This red wine is based on the Negroamaro grapes (85-100%), with the permitted addition of Malvasia Nera di Lecce and/or Montepulciano and/or Sangiovese and/or Pinot Nero (0-15%), thus it has the same grape composition as Lizzano Negroamaro DOC.
Lizzano Negroamaro Superiore DOC is a dry, dark ruby red wine, which turns brick red with age. The scent is typical, vinous, and the taste is balanced, dry and harmonious.
Lizzano Malvasia Negroamaro Superiore DOC must have a minimum of 13% alcohol content and may be released on the market only after November 30th of the year following the harvest.
The required aging period is 1 year.
Best enjoyed with red meat, game and mature cheese.
