The red wine Lizzano Malvasia Nera Superiore DOC is not only made from the same grapes as Lizzano Malvasia Nera DOC, but it is also just as rare on the market. The wine is therefore made from Malvasia Nera di Lecce grapes and/or Malvasia di Brindisi (85-100%), Negroamaro and/or Montepulciano and/or Sangiovese and/or Pinot Nero (0-15%).
This is a dark red, velvety wine, with light tannins and a soft, characteristic scent, with a light, aromatic hint.
Lizzano Malvasia Nera Superiore DOC must have an alcohol content of 13% and may be released on the market after November 30th of the year following the harvest.
1 year is the minimum required aging period, and the aging potential is approximately 5-6 years.
