Gioia del Colle Primitivo DOC is the best known wine of this zone. It is a large and powerful wine made from the grape with the same name, Primitivo (100%), with a typical, mild fragrance. The flavor is rich and inviting, the color ranges from purple to garnet with age, and despite its power, it is a smooth and velvety wine.
A sweetish Gioia del Colle Primitivo Amabile DOC is also produced, which is mainly enjoyed after the meal, with cheese or dessert. Finally, a barrel aged Gioia del Colle Primitivo Riserva DOC is also available.
