Erice Calabrese, or Erice Nero d’Avola, as it's also called (the grape's local name) consists of the Calabrese grape (85-100%) with permission to add local red grapes (0-15%).
The color is intense ruby red, the aroma delicate and characteristic, while the taste is dry, mellow and moderately tannic.
