San Severo Rosso DOC is made from Montepulciano (70-100%) and Sangiovese grapes (0-30%). As young, the wine is ruby red, but it becomes garnet with age. Occasionally, one may encounter bright, almost rosy wines of this type. The wine has a vinous, distinctive and pleasant bouquet, and a dry, full-bodied, delicious and balanced taste.
San Severo Rosso DOC can range from light to medium-heavy to relatively dense wines. Improves after 1-3 years of aging, however, the aging potential is up to 4 years.
