Moscato di Trani DOC is a beautiful golden dessert wine, grown around the coastal city of Trani. This rare wine is one of Southern Italy’s best dessert wines, being rich in scent and taste and having an almost velvety structure.
Two types are produced: a Moscato di Trani Liquoroso DOC (16%+2% residual sugar) and a Moscato di Trani Dolce Naturale DOC (12%+2% residual sugar). The grape variety is partly dried Moscato Bianco (Moscato di Trani) with a permitted addition of up to 15% other, local grapes.
Moscato di Trani Dolce Natural DOC is released on the market March 1st in the year following the harvest. Moscato di Trani Liquoroso DOC is released on the market November 11 in the year following the harvest.
Aging potential is up to 3 years for the Dolce Naturale version and 5-6 years for the Liquoroso.
