Brindisi Rosso DOC is produced from the grapes Negroamaro (70-100%), Malvasia di Brindisi and/or Sussumaniello, Sangiovese and Montepulciano (0-30%). The wine is grown, as the name suggests, from the port city bearing the same name towards the inland country.
It’s a quite powerful wine, yet still soft and elegant, which improves if stored. The color is ruby red, which turns into brick red as it matures. The aroma is vinous and intense; the taste is dry, with light velvety tannins, and a slightly bitter aftertaste.
The storage potential for Brindisi Rosso DOC is up to 4 years.
A Brindisi Rosso Riserva DOC with required aging is also seen.
